Blackheath Prep is an outstanding school located in South East London. We offer an exceptional education that is well-balanced across the academic subjects, sport and the arts, in addition to a superb extra-curricular offer, supportive pastoral care, and wraparound care that meets the needs of busy parents. Our facilities include a purpose-built Science lab, IT and DT block, Library, Gym, 2.5 acre sports field as well as three Forest Schools, providing ample space for our pupils to roam and have mini-adventures. By the time they leave us in Year 6 our pupils have achieved outstanding results in their 11+ and secure outstanding senior school offers from the leading independent and grammar schools in London and Kent. Over 70% of our Year 6 leavers receive one or more scholarship offers from their schools of choice.
As part of the Eltham College Family of Schools, our pupils also benefit from a priority application process for those who select Eltham College as their senior school of choice.

If you would like to find out more about Blackheath Prep in person and tour our outstanding facilities and grounds, you are warmly invited to attend our next Family Open Day on Saturday 19 September 2026, from 9am until 1pm. Our Open Day is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to experience all that we have to offer.
We also hold regular weekly tours of the school throughout the year for parents only. These take place on certain Wednesday mornings during term time and give prospective parents an opportunity to tour and see the school in action on a normal day.

Our Saturday Open Days, held in the Autumn and Spring terms, provide the perfect introduction to our school for the whole family. You will hear from our Head, from our pupils, and tour our extensive grounds, superb facilities and classrooms. You will also have the opportunity to meet with our specialist staff from across all age groups and areas of the curriculum.
